Hi friends,

I know you missed me, well I missed  you too. lol. For those of you reading my blog for the first time, benvenuti!

So, are you wondering whats new? Well, Vlisco Charity Fashion show! Vlisco held a fundraiser auction last night at the Vlisco Boutique, Accra Mall for Infanta Malaria Prevention Foundation and I was a part of it thanks to my friend, *wink, wink*, you know yourself.

The Fundraiser/Fashion Show which featured one exquisite piece each by six Ghanaian prominent designers who are official Vlisco Partners, was hosted by the ever beautiful and bi-lingual Anita Erskine. After an opening speech by the Vlisco Brand Manager and the Deputy Administrative Director of IMPF and owner of Amanda Jewels, Mrs Ruth Nylander, the fundraising started with the auction of the beautiful dress adorned by Mrs Ruth Nylander and designed by Ameyo.

The main event started with Ghanaian Designers: PistisAmeyo, Poqua Poqu, RowVon, House of Eccentric and Mina Evans having their dresses displayed by models and bid on by guests and it was RowVon's chic and detailed dress that had the highest bid at 1000 Ghanaian Cedis. The event didn't end there, Vlisco went ahead to auction 12 Limited Edition fabrics; The guests with the highest bid for the limited Edition fabrics are going to have the fabrics designed by one of the 6 talented designers for free.

Vlisco Ready to wear collection was modeled and not auctioned but sold at discount prices for anyone that was interested and to bring the event to a close, the Vlisco Ambassador, Dr. Mrs Ellen Hagan gave the vote of thanks.

If you are interested in making a donation to Infanta Malaria Prevention Foundation to help bridge the gap between poverty and malaria prevention and eradication in Ghana, feel free to do so here.

And now, I leave you with some pictures.

Men's Chest Hair Coat???

Hi friends,

For all you ladies who love to get cozy on his chest hair...lol, this one is definitely for your pleasure, a fur coat made of men's chest hair!!!

A Global Dairy Company, Arla Foods, commissioned a fur coat made from over a million strands of male chest hair over 200 hours and this fur coat made from men's chest hair is only £2,499! Gbam!!

The new ad-campaign by CHI & Partners, titled Lait D' Homme is to promote Arla's new brand of flavoured milk, Wing-Co., a chocolate drink for men in their thirties and forties

“We’re delighted to be launching Wing-Co. to men across the UK with such a comprehensive communications plan in place. We’re confident that we've developed a product and strategy for Wing-Co. that’s going to keep men going when they need it most,” said senior brand manager for dairy drinks at Arla, Gareth Turner. ( Excerpt from The Drum)

The chocolate drink which is high in protein is said to be a protest against the widespread  'manning-down' of British men typified by clean-shaven chests and emasculating fashion. In other words, ladies, let's encourage our men to keep it real. wink!

DO IT RIGHT OR DO THE TIME!

Hi friends,

So I got to reading and stumbled upon something quite interesting and since sharing is what I love to do, here we go!

For all you fashion lovers and especially those who love to wear designer brands, be very careful! With people trying to get rich quick, more and more fake designer goods are entering the market and its getting harder to tell the difference between an authentic product and a cheap knock-off. In New York City, it may soon be a law that anyone found in possession of a counterfeit designer product is liable to jail time...you heard me right, J-A-I-L T-I-M-E!

New York Council member, Magaret Chin, supported by Rivera, Fidler, Mendez, Comrie, Brewer and Koslowitz proposed the legislation that the purchase of any counterfeit good be a misdemeanor punishable by a fine of $1,000 or not more than a year imprisonment.

As a young designer, I understand the need to protect the industry from the profusion of fake products which make it difficult for designers to enjoy the rewards of their hard work...

But wait a minute....why should you, the buyer, serve time instead of the seller???

All I can say is, dot your I's and cross your T's before you buy any designer product and be careful of where thy legs take you because as we would say in Nigeria, "tomorrow, it fit be you."

The Legislation...

ROAD TO BRAVITUDE

Hi friends,

If you haven't heard of Bravitude then you're on a loooooong thing. For the sake of other readers that aren't Nigerians, let me introduce you to Buttons Couture. Buttons Couture is a Nigerian Fashion label which started in 2009 producing shirts, trousers, dresses and jackets but has now carved a niche by specializing in jackets for both men and women. The person behind the brand is known as Remilekun Owadokun aka Remi Buttons. Her signature pieces are jackets made with buttons, although, her jackets have gone way and beyond the classic buttons look as she shows us more of her creativity. Now that you are up to speed about Buttons Couture, lets talk about Bravitude.

There's been a media buzz about Bravitude for a couple of weeks. Bravitude is the name of Remi Buttons 2013 Collection. The inspiration for the collection is prints which is now in vogue. Remi Buttons wanted to try uncharted waters by using prints and doing something that has never been done before in fashion. Following the past few weeks of achievements which has seen the Bravitude cross over into the Urban Dictionary, as well as the massive social media ruckus from the various definitions of the Bravitude which garnered over 20,000 impressions Top trending Topic Nationwide on twitter for Weeks, the Bravitude name is no longer simply a title for the collection, but has become a term which describes the essence of strength, youth, style, and creativity.

In order to take her fans and supporters along and make them feel like a family, Remi Buttons decided to do something a entirely different by creating and sharing a docu-series known as "Road to Bravitude". "Road to Bravitude" gives you a behind the scenes tour into the process and launch of her 2013 collection, Bravitude. The first episode of the "Road to Bravitude" series takes us through the fitting process for Ice Prince’s ensemble piece, showing us the combination style and disregard for convention that Bravitude stands for.

Be Brave!

Ebonii Returns

Hi friends,

Saying "its been a while" would sound cliche but it has honestly  been a while and truly I've missed you. So, I guess the question on your mind is "where have you been?"

I decided to delve a little further into the world of design by going digital- whew, only 15 words but I just re-wrote it about 5 times. With the use of Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator, there is so much that one can do; I'll share with you some of my virtual designs (use of existing designs to create a new design) and the use of Photoshop to enhance freehand designs.
